The Decoy Tachi Pike is equipped with a step wire assist system that allows for trouble-free and reliable hooking onto sharp-toothed targets such as Pacific saury, bonito, and mackerel, with a focus on Pacific bluefin tuna. The wire used possesses both the tension and flexibility needed for the entire process from bite to hookset, ensuring no hindrance. It is also robust enough to withstand large Pacific bluefin tuna and saury without being cut. The assist wire consists of 49 strands of Yori SUS304 wire, providing the necessary durability.

The hooks employed are the "Pike AS-03", chosen for their smooth and swift hooking action, set at the step. This step corresponds to the distinct "biting strike" of the Pacific bluefin tuna, thereby increasing the hooking success rate. This setup is suitable not only for the front hook but also as a rear hook.
